Load shedding, unreliable power supply and increasing electricity costs are realities that businesses in South Africa must contend with. Own power generation is the only guaranteed solution to secure power and thereby continues operation of a business.
Energas can deliver a turnkey gas-to-power solution for the following gas sources:
- Pipeline natural gas
- LNG (regasified on site)
- Biogas
- CNG
- LPG
- Syngas
Gas-to-power provides the base load, which can be supplemented with solar when it is available. Solar power without batteries is available on average between 4 and 5 hours per year.
Typical installations would be between 1-10 MW, however larger and smaller installations can be supplied.
Installations can be customized to each client’s individual needs:
- Containerized solutions or purpose-built room
- Level of sound attenuation
- With or without waste-heat recovery
- Supply voltages (400V, 6.6kV or 11kV)
- Grid parallel or island mode operation
- Integration with solar PV
If the power generation solution can be combined with waste heat recovery the efficiency can further be increased to reduce the overall energy cost to the customer and an annual saving compared to grid supplied electricity.
